"The Starting Lineup for your Duke Blue Devils"

Since the season is just around the corner I decided to dissect the roster and chose who I thought what the starting lineup would look like.

Below is the roster for this year:

34 Jamal Boykin F 6-7 230 So.
12 Jordan Davidson G 6-1 180 So.
15 Gerald Henderson G 6-4 215 Fr.
51 Steve Johnson F 6-5 195 Fr.
14 David McClure F 6-6 200 So.
2 Josh McRoberts F 6-10 240 So.
21 DeMarcus Nelson G 6-4 200 Jr.
45 Joe Pagliuca G 6-2 185 Sr.
3 Greg Paulus G 6-1 180 So.
5 Martynas Pocius G 6-5 190 So.
30 Jon Scheyer G 6-5 180 Fr.
13 Nick Sutton G 6-2 180 Fr.
42 Lance Thomas F 6-8 215 Fr.
55 Brian Zoubek C 7-1 250 Fr.

Starters:

Point - Jon Scheyer
Wing - DeMarcus Nelson
Wing - Gerald Henderson
Forward - Josh McRoberts
Center - Brian Zoubek

Thomas, Pocius, McClure, and Boykin are apart of the regular rotation. For all you non-math majors out there that is nine deep. When you bring back Paulus to run the point, I would keep the lineup the way it is. Obviously moving Scheyer out of the point position, and providing us with a tremendous ten deep lineup. This is an exciting prospect, as we will have a young, fresh, athletic, and balanced team. The more I look at this roster, I really get excited about this year and the next few years. Just a few more weeks till the season starts.

Also look ahead to the end of this week. Kyle Singler should be making his decision soon. Think positive thoughts Duke fans.

Practice Starts for the Blue Devils

As I woke up Saturday morning, I did my usual scanning of headlines at dukereport.com . The difference this day than the past few months? More articles. Yes, Duke fans the season has officially begun with Duke's first practice yesterday Friday the 13th. I for one am looking forward to the an exciting season. With the pending recruiting of Kyle Singler, and Patrick Patterson, us fans need to realize that the season is oh so close. One of the most excited people about the 06/07 Blue Devils is Coach Mike Krzyzewski.

"To me being the national coach, as much as I love coaching, I am so into coaching right now," Krzyzewski said. "Instead of being worn out going into the year I'm pumped," he added.

Throughout the summer, and especially since returning from duties with Team USA, Coach K has proclaimed that he can't wait to get together with his talented, athletic, and young team.

The first chance to watch the Blue Devils live will be the annual Blue-White Scrimmage on Saturday, Oct. 28. After two exhibition games against Shaw University on Nov. 2 and NC Central on Nov. 4, Duke will begin the season against Columbia which is the opening round of the CBE Classic(formerly the Guardians Classic).

On a side note, the game against Columbia is very important to me. A win for Duke means that I will be able to watch them for the first time live in Kansas City, which will be the semi-final game of the CBE classic. Just got my tickets, so "The Blue Devil Blog" readers will get a first hand review of that one.

Duke Enemy #1: Gregg Doyel

Forget any other sports writer in America who says that they don't like Duke. At least they can still be bias. The most despicable display of Duke hatred comes from the mouth of CBS Sportsline writer Gregg Doyel. For years I have been reading the articles that this idiot writes. His hatred for anything Duke, and Coach K have been completely false and just plain BS. However, his latest article shows his ridiculous hatred, and clear jealous of college basketballs most precious jewel.

http://www.sportsline.com/columns/story/9702285

Here is the article that Doyel writes about Christian Laettner and Brian Davis plans to purchase controlling interest in the Memphis Grizzles. He goes from bashing Laettner to an elaborate fantasy story about Duke, and Coach K. How the man gets paid for doing what he does clearly shows that he has naked pictures of his bosses wife.

Duke fans, be on the look out for this picture. Be aware that when this face is associated with an article, be prepared for absolute crap.
